Joshua’s place was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and a delight to be in and easy to find. The rooms were large with plenty of storage. The bathrooms were fantastic. The entire place was super clean, squeaky clean. The use of the chairs, umbrella and towels for the beach was helpful. Do get up early for the sunrise on the sand and make sure to see the sunsets too. This is a super condo that we would stay in again if we are luckily enough to get back to Lanikai. Thank you Joshua.

Josh and Jaymie were wonderful!! Their place was amazing and felt like home the minute we walked in the door. The pictures do not do it justice. It is more beautiful in person. What an amazing find. This place was clean and immaculate. Looks like it was just built from ground up few short years ago. Great and ideal for a family of 4. The location was perfect as it was walkable to lanikai beach. We even had 2 parking spots which as you know is impossible to find for lanikai beach. Joshua even provided us 2 SUP with beach accessories such as beach chairs and umbrellas. It was easily transported to the beach with the wagon. After we were done, they had an outdoor rinse off outside to clean ourself and our snorkel gears.

We will definitely come back to this Airbnb again.

Josh’s place is fantastic!! The BEST AirBnB we have ever rented. So beautiful and modern. The yard looks great and very welcoming. The house was spotless and they provided everything you needed. We used the beach towels, chairs and cart a lot during our trip. It was easy to get in and out of the house. The beds and sofa were comfortable. The house was only a 5-min walk to Lanikai Beach and just a 10-min drive to Target and a lot of restaurants. It was only about 30-40 mins away from all the places we went to (Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, Kualoa Ranch, Makapuu Beach, Waimanalo Beach, Sea Life Park). Josh is very friendly and communicated frequently. We posted photos to social media and immediately a lot of friends asked where we stayed. This place is highly recommended!!

This was a perfect stay for our family! It was squeaky clean and flat out beautiful. We appreciated finding the kid plates in the cabinet for use. You cannot beat the location. Walk right down straight to the beach and drive a quick ~5-10 min to many restaurants! Would love to stay here again!

This was our second stay at Josh’s place and it was just as wonderful as the first. Can’t beat the location, 1 minute walk to the beach, we watched the sunrise a couple of mornings then came back, made coffee, and had relaxing days lounging on the lanai and watching the birds visit the lush garden. The house is immaculate, clean, and all of the tech gadgets (automated A/C, fans, window shades) worked perfectly to make it comfortable and easy. We’ll be back.

Josh’s place is amazing! Beautifully appointed with comfortable furnishings and the perfect location for easy beach access and the start of the pillbox hike. I stayed at Josh’s place with my wife, baby and parents. This is an incredible place in an incredible location. It was perfect with a baby and had everything we needed to prepare baby’s food. Josh is an excellent host and regularly checks in to ensure we’re doing well. He even offered to bring a crib over upon noticing that we had a baby. It’s also the cleanest Airbnb I’ve ever encountered, a few steps away from Lanikai Beach. Hope to come back again.

Great and beautiful home with lots of amenities! We really enjoyed having separate bathrooms and lots of space for the four of us. We had a three year old that is a little rascally, so we had to move some fragile things out of the way. Easy check in and close to a great section of Lanikai beach. Highly recommend this place!

This was without question the nicest Airbnb I’ve ever seen. It has all of the modern conveniences, right down to blinds operated by voice (Alexa). Everything is super modern, and clean. This place is special. I mean special. Its the perfect combination of beachy and modern. The owners have carefully thought every need you could ever want in a Beach house. The neighborhood is nice and clean, the walk to the beach is peaceful and the beach itself is “truly” breathtaking. The ocean was warm, sand perfect and can even snorkel just off the shore. – Location: Perfect. Real short walk to Lanikai beach. Knowing that street parking can be a hassle if you do not secure a spot early morning or by luck, we enjoyed this huge advantage. We went to the beach when we wanted. Morning, afternoon, evening, it does not matter.
– Suite: Gorgeous. Clean, modern, spacious. I have now new remodeling ideas of our own home after staying:-)

This place is the real deal! Great location! Gorgeous,
scenic, semi-secluded beach is at the end of the road. We watched the sunrise several mornings! We saw turtles, fish, crabs, all the sea things at the beach! Also several hiking trails nearby and a perfect little town, Kailua, offers local shops (check out Donut King, the Dive Shop, the Bookstore, Cinnamon’s…). The home is beautifully decorated, the yard an idyllic escape, and the place is spotless and full of amenities. Josh and family were amazing hosts – available but also offering full privacy. As a family, we talked about making this stay a tradition!

Everything about this home is perfect. Decor, design, smart features (for shades, lights and fans), everything was designed for the modern day family. Everything was clean. Our kids, 4yo and 2yo, enjoyed the home. The close proximity to the beach made it easy for them to go out and play. It’s a quick drive to grocery stores, convenient stores, shops and restaurants. Away from the congestion of Waikiki, Within 100yards of one of the nicest beaches on the island…this location will be our first choice every time we visit.

Hi! Hands down, Kolea Landing is one of the best places I’ve stayed. Everything as shown in pictures/advertised is legit in person. Easy walk to the beach or pillbox hike. No need to lug everything to the beach – can use the wagon or take the easy 3-5min walk back to the house. Easy instructions and great communication with Josh. Overall, the house and grounds were so clean, housed with modern amenities, and loved how big and open the space felt with touches of Hawaii placed around — local art, books, games, etc… My family had an enjoyable time at this Lanikai gem and can’t wait to come back. Better than advertised—the home is super clean, thoughtfully designed/decorated & full of aloha. Even the gardens out front are gorgeous and meticulously maintained (my daughter asked that I include that detail). Josh has thought of everything—from including laundry detergent to the automatic window shades & mini splits + fans in each room—it was such a comfortable stay.

The location is prime Lanikai: for reference, we prefer to avoid driving when we can—our kids (7yo) loved pulling the beach wagon full of chairs & towels (provided by Josh) each day to the beach, the walk to the Pillbox trailhead was short, and we all enjoyed a morning run to Kailua Beach. Our only complaint was that our stay wasn’t long enough.

FYI we had total privacy — although this is a guest house, it looks like just another house in the neighborhood. We only met/saw Joshua because we had a little mishap (our fault, not his—and he was able to bail us out in <5 mins)… and were so thankful his house was next door (but not visible from the property… we even spent a lot of time on the front patio and didn’t notice it!).

The ultimate Lanikai spot! The location is just unbeatable. Super quick and lovely walk to one of the most beautiful and kid-friendly beaches on earth. Literally down the street from an incredible hiking spot. The home itself is spotless, light, bright, feels brand new and full of positive energy. It’s tastefully decorated, all the furniture is super comfy, linens are high quality, and although it’s very minimalist (in a good way), everything you need is there. What a great place to stay! We were four adults (my wife and our two young adult daughters) and this home was very spacious, immaculately clean, very tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. It’s located a short, easy 200m walk to the beach. The best beach towels I’ve ever used were provided. It’s close to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. The bathrooms were spacious too and included dispensers in the shower for soap, conditioner and shampoo. These are quality products that we enjoyed using. The home has its own laundry facilities with laundry tablets provided. The home is located in a beautiful, quiet neighbourhood, about 600m from trailhead to the Pillbox trail. For beach lovers, there’s a convenient beach cart loaded up with 4 chairs and umbrellas. We also enjoyed using the stand up paddle boards that were available. Was very easy to bring all this stuff down to the beach. And Lanikai beach is amazing! Great place to snorkel.

Basically, anything you need for a great stay is provided in this home. We truly felt like it was our home away from home.

Josh was very friendly and helpful with suggestions for things to do, places to visit and where to go out to eat. We would most definitely recommend this home to anyone.

Absolutely 100% perfect. Josh’s space is much bigger than it looks in photos, with high ceilings and the loveliest front grassy yard with a covered seating area. The house was spotless and everything felt new. Appreciated the outdoor hot water shower so we didnt have to track sand thru the house. Communication was prompt and friendly. Location cannot be beat – half a block from Lanikai Beach, where the sand is so soft it feels like flour. Mahalo Josh, we are definitely coming back next year.

Lanikai is our favorite beach in Oahu and we make it there every year, but of course it is hard to find great places in Lanikai / Kailua. Joshua’s place is amazing. WOW, as the other reviews state. Place is immaculate, the lighting both and natural and built in, the finishings, the amenities… its stunning when you first open the door until you walk out for the last time. No cut corners, the place is furnished with quality items from floor to celling. It feels like a dream vacation home. The location is top notch too, close to several great restaurants and markets, and easy walk to beach and pillbox, you can easily get by all week with a bike and good pair sneakers. Thanks to Josh and his family they really have a stellar property they share with everyone.

This is the best Air BnB I’ve ever stayed at! The home seems brand new, and the decor & furnishings were perfect for giving that modern yet relaxing island feel. We immediately fell in love with the house. All of the high tech touches such as voice-activated shades made things super convenient. What a beautiful stay! This house is easily the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed in. Our children loved the outdoor area and ample space in their own room. Tremendous location if you love Lanikai beach. With the closing of street parking from 8am-4pm on Monday through Friday, it’s really tough to get to Lanikai other than via bus or park at Kailua Beach and trek over. The moment we stepped into Josh’s guesthouse, we were in love. From the high ceilings, modern decor, to the smart home features, this house was everything we could have asked for and more. It was such a reminder of our own home and so refreshing considering how most AirBnb’s in Lanikai are more dated. Having a place with such easy access to Lanikai is a godsend for families with younger kids considering there are no bathrooms. Josh and his wife take great pride in their guest house, so don’t hesitate to book here, but make sure you take care of it as if it were your own. Mahalo Josh for a wonderful stay!

This was our first vacation since the pandemic and it was PERFECT. The minute you pull up to Kolea landing, you are instantly at ease and you feel at home. We felt so comfortable the entire stay. They really put in their heart and soul to this place and it shows! From the little details to the beautiful front yard, we were amazed by all of it. Everywhere you looked was something amazing. They nailed the perfect “at home in Hawaii” vibe. I can’t stress enough how CLEAN this place was.
We loved using Alexa for everything in the house. “Alexa, play Bob Marley radio!”
They were attentive to every detail. The bed was very comfortable. The bathooms and shower are super cute and great water pressure for after the beach. The outdoor shower was such a great addition to getting all the sand off. The beach towels were to die for (we even ordered some for ourselves at home!) They also provide everything you need for cooking and that was very convenient and easy! We loved having the laundry as well.
Also the host Josh is reliable and so friendly!

Kolea landing was truly magical and a place I’ll always remember. We can’t wait to stay here again!

This is the best place because of the cleanliness, modern appeal, ac, quiet neighborhood, only a few minutes walk to a beautiful beach that was not as crowded as most beaches during a holiday week. Also short walk to the Pillbox hike. Joshua had everything we needed for a day at the beach and if cooking in we had everything needed for this also. I would highly recommend this place.

This house sits in a very special part of the island and specifically it is in a perfect location, 1/2 block from the beach.

The house itself is like new, super modern but welcoming and warm. Double masters / baths, huge kitchen, tons of storage space, comfortable bed and sofas. Lots of beach stuff as well. Two parking spaces. We could not have asked for more.

The house was immaculate when we arrived and the host (Josh) was welcoming and there for us if we needed anything.

Highly recommend and exceeded expectations!

We had such an incredible stay at Joshua and his family’s beautiful guest home! Every detail was so thoughtful, from towels and linens, a beautiful kitchen, yoga mats, a wagon with beach chairs to every detail in how the space itself was constructed. We felt so lucky to be able to stay in such a wonderful location, just two minutes from the beach and from the Pillbox Trailhead, it was the perfect place to relax and we could feel stress melt away. Joshua and his wife were also amazing hosts, super kind and friendly. we can’t wait to stay again!

This sweet cottage is in the perfect location. A short walk to Lanikai Beach – which is an amazingly beautiful beach, especially for small kids as the water is calm and shallow. Thanks to jet lag and small children we were able to catch the sunrise a few times and it is breathtakingly beautiful! Joshua’s house is even prettier in person. It is decorated so nicely and really just a lovely place to call home for the time you have there. Perfectly clean and appointed with everything you need. Joshua was readily available for any questions and suggestions. We have zero complaints and hope to stay again on our next visit to Oahu.

This house is located one block from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Parking in the area is extremely limited so the convenience of staying one block from the beach with a driveway for parking was a real luxury! The home was built by owners Josh and his family and is as beautiful and stylishly decorated as described with comfortable beds and all amenities of home. The street is quiet and I enjoyed the my peaceful time sitting on the patio looking at the beautiful plants and listening to the birds in the morning. It was a wonderful retreat for our family and we cannot wait to go back to this slice of paradise!

Josh’s Beach house is a wonderful place to stay that is easy walking distance to the beach. They provided beach chairs, umbrellas, and a wagon to cart them over. The beach was clean with beautiful sand and the water was clear. It seemed to be a windy side of the island with colder water, but that may have been due to the crazy amount of rain Oahu had received recently. The house was incredibly clean and Alexa controlled lights, fans, and blinds. It made the stay super convenient as you were never searching for light switches. Josh was really helpful and had some great suggestions for some for their local favorites. At one point the block lost power, and they had a generator ready to fire up if we had an extended outage, though it was luckily not needed. Also, two driveway spots are clutch if you’re in a rental as the parking around there can be crazy. lastly, the Pillbox Hike is within walking distance and I highly recommend. Awesome stay and would absolutely stay again.

Josh’s place is AMAZING! We have stayed at many AirBnBs, but this was definitely one of the nicest. There were many thoughtful details and lots of open space. The location can’t be beat with only a few minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii. The water is quite calm and perfect for swimming with small children. We would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

This stay in Kailua at Joshua’s guest home was amazing. There is no detail that he has not thought of to make our stay pleasant. Clear and quick communication and ease of instructions on check in took all stress out of travel. The place is beautiful and sparkling clean. It presents brand new and is so comfortable to live in. Joshua’s place was full of extra touches from chocolates and a refrigerated stocked with some cold still and sparking waters. The location of the guest suite is a block from one of the nicest beaches we were at on the island, and Josh provided beach chairs, umbrellas and a wagon to get it all down to the beach. Sugar soft sand and even some good snorkeling. There is a pillbox hike that begins about five minutes from the front door. We walked down Buzz’s Steakhouse and there was also a market that sold sandwiches and snacks. It was all perfect and it was hard to leave. Can’t wait to return!!

This place is amazing. The location is a couple steps to an amazing beach. The inside design is chic and homey. The rooms and amenities were clean, easy to use and vital to our stay. Everything was provided for easy access and made the trip a lot more relaxing. The patio is very nice that my wife and I just sat there for hours just drinking coffee and vibing out. Josh was very responsive and attentive to all our needs and went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Possibly the best airbnb on the island, highly recommended and will hope to stay here again.

Joshua’s place is Airbnb perfection! For starters, it is IMMACULATE. It must be the cleanest place we have ever stayed in, bar none. Raised on the west side of the island, I decided to book a staycation in one of my favorite towns, Kailua. A friend was visiting so we booked this new listing. A couple of highlights:

1) Design is modern with an island flair so it embraces the Aloha spirit plus it’s a SMART home so you can control shades, fans, lights, etc via Alexa. A nice feature was the shower on the side of the house so we could wash off all the sand after the beach.

2) Location is prime. Just a 5 minute walk to Lanikai and very close to the Pillbox hike. Two things we did during our stay (more than once) plus go into town for Chadlou’s coffee and Mother bakery.

3) Cooking, cleaning, laundry, and bath amenities/supplies were readily available. Working in clean-tech, I appreciate the eco-conscious products such as Blueland soaps and refillable shampoo and conditioner from the local Protea Zero Waste store.

I highly recommend staying here especially if you want to experience the lax side of Oahu and calmer beaches.

Extravagant and absolutely beautiful. I was so sad to checkout and leave because i loved this place so much. It was so clean and I loved the space and the prime location in lanikai. Josh was excellent in communicating and responding to my questions during our stay. Everything from the beds, furniture and the yard was so inviting and comfortable. Beautiful open space kitchen and dining area and the large master bedrooms and en suite bathrooms left me speechless. Exactly the way it’s presented in the pictures. Top quality, top customer service, absolutely clean. It was one of the best staycations we’ve had. Will definitely be back.

Stayed here with my wife, 2-year old son and nanny. If I could summarize this property in two words they would be “easy” and “modern.” After staying in Kailua many time over the years, this one was hands-down the nicest property we’ve stayed in. Very modern space and beautifully designed. The appliances, wifi, showers, lights, shades and furniture and everything else are all new and everything works the way it’s supposed to. We cooked the majority of our meals and loved that we had all the pans/cookware to do so. The rooms are very spacious and the beds were modern and comfortable. There’s a connected TV you can use to access any VOD app. The front yard and outdoor area in general is immaculately maintained. We really appreciated there was an outdoor hose you can use to spray off any sand, and they even provide a little wagon, chairs and small umbrellas for you to use at the beach.

And Lanikai beach is literally a block away! You can see the ocean if you poke your head out into the street. Very easy to make the sunrise, and the location is far away enough from the main beach parking areas that you avoid the craziness of the weekend crowd and all the traffic. Lanikai is the nicest beach for relaxing and is very kid-friendly, in our opinion. The entrance to the pillboxes hike is minutes away too if you are looking for views.

Finally, Josh was extremely responsive and communicative and just nice in general. Check-in and check-out was a breeze and he made sure to re-stock us with Keurig cups at one point. He was a model host and definitely made an effort to make sure we were comfortable.

We would absolutely come back to stay here and I hope we do soon.

If this listing pops up, you’ve just struck hospitality gold! It’s hands down the best airbnb we’ve ever stayed. Beautiful/modern aesthetics, sparkling clean, high-end amenities and the sweetest hosts you’ll ever meet (who are chock-full of great local tips). Not to mention location…It’s just a few steps to – what might be – the most gorgeous beach in the world. For hiker’s, the pill box trailhead is a block away and can be seen out your bedroom window (for morning motivation). Kailua has all the staples of a mid-size town (Target, Whole Foods, etc) while still feeling unique and full of culture (local artisan shops, farmers market and wonderful selection of restaurants). A million thanks to you, Josh and Jamie!

One of the greatest stays I’ve ever booked! Location is unmatched- this place is only a few minutes walk down the street to the beautiful beach of Lanikai. Right around the corner from the house is also the trail for the Pillbox Hike, which is a must see! Joshua’s place is worth every penny, and not just because of the location: key code access makes it so easy to come and go with piece of mind & there are also plenty of outdoor cameras to make you feel safe and secure. One of the most impressive touches: the smart home technology (so much can be done using voice commands with Alexa). Interior design so bright and modern, too: shows how much time and thought has been put into the stay and the guest’s comfort level.

This place is incredible and might be one of the nicest Airbnbs we’ve ever stayed at! The guest suite is attached to the property owner’s home, but you can’t really tell and it seems like your own private place. It’s brand new, and decorated with very thoughtful touches. It’s also a smart home that is set up with voice command lights, window shades, and fans. They really spared no expense on the amenities and decorative touches. The owner (Josh) and his father built the home themselves, and you can tell it was built with love, as it’s so much nicer than your typical rental property. The location is perfect also, just a 2 minute walk to Lanikai beach, and really close to restaurants and grocery stores in Kailua. Josh was very responsive and so thoughtful. We asked for a can opener, and he immediately went out and purchased one for us. Also, my boyfriend and I got engaged on this trip! Josh then very thoughtfully bought us wine glasses to celebrate. It was a very special trip, and we are so thankful we were able to stay in this home during it. Mahalo Josh!

I highly recommend this rental. I believe we were the first people to rent this place as everything was brand new. The design and detail put into made it a perfect vacation rental. We felt like we were living inside a catalogue with how perfectly everything was decorated. The place is well cared for and unlike some rentals where the owners live their part time this place was decorated and designed with the renter in mind. We would definitely stay at this place again… we were sad to leave
