Beautiful vacation home

Kolea Landing was the perfect spot for our family vacation. The house was spacious, clean, well supplied and just a short walk to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. We enjoyed the private outdoor living space overlooking a beautifully manicured yard. Our hosts were kind, accommodating and very responsive. Highly recommend this property!

Relaxing vacation in Kailua private house

We had a wonderful time in Kailua. Joshua was attentive and offered to help us with the house amenities. The house was beautiful, comfortable, and quiet. When we weren’t swimming at the beach we enjoyed a couple local hikes, afternoon cat naps, relaxing on the back patio, and chasing our toddler around in the private backyard. The kitchen and stove were great to cook quick, easy meals when we weren’t out enjoying the local cuisine. The little things such as a warm water shower on the outside to rinse off the seawater, comfortable beds and individual room climate control really made our stay relaxing and rejuvenating. If I were to recommend anything, and it’s a small request, it would be to have an easier smart home experience with the Alexa commands. We tried operating the smart devices verbatim per the instructions folder. The results were inconsistent and often hilarious. Good thing there was a remote or switch to operate them without any more effort. Overall, this was a great place to enjoy quality time with my family. Being able to go swimming, hiking, and then enjoying downtime in such ease made our Hawaiian family reunion memorable. Mahalo.

Beautiful property very close to beach

The house was very comfortable and very thoughtfully designed. The owner was kind enough to even leave us some beach toys for the kids to play with. The wagon with the beach chairs and boogie boards was very convenient as well. The beach was just a two minute walk from the house and amazingly beautiful with such good snorkeling right at the beach. The house also had a very convenient outdoor shower area where we could rinse off the sand before entering the house. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely rent again if in this area.

Lanikai perfection!

This is an amazing home for a laidback beach get away. House was clean and more than comfortable for a couple and two singles. Kitchen was stocked for cooking, and bathrooms had ample towels, bath soaps and shampoo. For the 1 minute walk to the beach (did I mention perfect location) the home was stocked with loads of beach towels, beach chairs and an umbrella. Check-in was easy and owner came out to greet us right away and offered some great suggestions for some local restaurants. I truly hope to stay again and hate to tell anyone else about this amazing spot. Would love to keep it a secret!

Far Exceeded Our Expectations

I first want to say that the property looked amazing online and was just what we wanted as a family getaway to get unplugged and spend some quality time together in a beautiful setting. What awaited us was beyond our expectations and had us all using words like “paradise” and “let’s never go home.” Joshua and his family have created the perfect relaxing getaway spot in what has to be one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. No detail was overlooked in this property. Comforts, conveniences, and beauty surround you inside and out. Everything you need for a worry free stay was provided, including beach towels, beach chairs and a stand up paddle board! The property is spacious yet cozy, with a big back yard and all the modern technology you’d expect from a “smart home” (I loved streaming my favorite reggae tunes through the built in sound system!). Finally… The location… Wow! We knew the home was close to a nice beach, but when we walked that half a block to watch the sunrise over the Mokulua Islands, we were stunned! Half a block in the other direction was the trailhead for the amazing Pillbox Hiking Trail for more amazing views! Joshua was very responsive, although everything we needed was already provided. Overall, this property is absolutely PERFECT for a family getaway or any other stay. Don’t think twice… Book it if you can!

My family and I fell in love with this property. We love the open concept and the little things that Josh and his wife thought of to make this place so enjoyable on our vacation. The location was perfect. All convenient walking distance to Lanikai Beach and to the Pillbox. What can I say more, amazing place and amazing hosts! We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing house and location!

The property lived up to and exceeded the description and other reviews. The house is very spacious with an open flood plan and decorated very nicely. Attention to detail was not forgotten during the design and construction of this property! Amenities galore inside and outside to make our stay feel like home. The lanai was wonderful to spend the evenings. Stand up paddle boards, beach wagon, and beach chairs was a welcome bonus for our daily trip to Lanikai beach. Location is perfect to access Lanikai beach and the pillbox hike. Neighborhood is very quiet and location is near Kailua for any trips into town. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend to any of our family and friends.

Wonderful stay at a wonderful property

If I could give this property 10 stars I would. It was extremely clean, well maintained, beautifully decorated, and provided us with everything we needed for a fabulous beach vacation. The guesthouse is private with a beautiful backyard and lanai. Lanikai beach is a short walk, one block away, and has pristine, uncrowded beaches with great snorkeling. I highly recommend this property.

Steps to Lanikai beach

Awesome place to stay, would stay again. Sparkling clean, great parking and 1 block to Lanikai beach. Included beach wagon with chairs, towels and umbrella. Owner even had to inflatable SUPs that we used as well. Large yard for kids to play in and very nice master suite.

Stay in Paradise

This was our best stay ever coming to the island of Oahu. We have stayed at hotels and other VRBO’s before, and this location and home topped them all. The host is extremely friendly and accommodating, the house is immaculate, and the location is absolutely perfect. The interior design and decor is warm and welcoming and it is obvious that there was not a single detail of the home that was overlooked. We had our infant daughter with us, and having the wagon, beach chairs and umbrella were extremely useful to get to the beach, which is only half a block away. The lanai was private and we spent most of our evenings relaxing out there listening to the birds chirp and feeling the ocean breeze. It felt like we were able to live in paradise. Definitely plan on staying here again in the future, and have already recommended to friends. Mahalo!

Absolute Lanikai Perfection 🌴

My family and I travel to HI frequently. I have to say this was one of the best VRBO experiences I’ve had to date anywhere. Everything about the property (including the hosts) was amazing! I truly felt like I was back home. The home was pristine – open concept with lots of natural light, gorgeous landscaping, very well designed modern home with many features, amenities (beach towels, chairs, umbrella, coffee, the list goes on) and special Hawaiian touches. You simply cannot beat the location and proximity to Lanikai beach. Joshua and his family are so kind and responsive. We will certainly return! Mahalo Joshua.

The perfect location in Paradise!

We loved our stay here for our family trip to Hawaii! The property is exactly as described and the hosts are wonderful and helpful with any questions. The location with the short walk to Lanikai beach and close proximity to the Kailua neighborhood is one of the best parts! It’s the best beach on the island and everything you need during vacation is within short driving distance. The hosts were also very gracious to provide the wagon, umbrella, chairs and beach toys for us to use during our stay. We loved coming back to the house and enjoying meals relaxing in the backyard! We hope to come back soon!

Best VRBO Rental Ever!

This was a return trip to Hawaii, where we had lived for most of 11 years. Everything about the place was perfect – it seemed brand new, the beds were great, terrific kitchen, fabulous deck and backyard, very short walk to the beach, quiet and the ideal place to spend a fabulous vacation in Paradise.

Great beach vacation

Beautifully designed, well-equipped guest house. Modern, super clean, great kitchen, fans and air conditioning. Everything you need for the beach provided. Easy walks to swimming, snorkeling and Pillbox hike. Snorkel rental, shopping and good restaurants minutes away. We spent most of our down time in the backyard, which looks like a botanical garden. Joshua was very responsive to our needs. We didn’t want to leave!

Wonderful Stay!

We were in Oahu for 10 days and this house was our favorite place on the island! It is beautiful, cozy and walking distance to my favorite beach on Oahu. My boys loved playing football in the backyard and we loved drinking our morning coffee there. We can’t wait to return!! Mahalo!

Beautiful, calming, spacious + location

This is a beautiful, very spacious home that is brand new with a great and calming design. The backyard is green and wide. The birds are wonderful to listen to and we laid down and looked up at bright stars at night in that lush yard. So magical. The house is so clean with big windows that bring the outside in. Josh was a great host and terrific help and quick with replies. Finally, Lanikai is beautiful beach 1 block away. Access to it otherwise is not easy so this location is terrific and easy!

AMAZING!!!

This house literally exceeded our expectations by so far!! We loved our 9 day stay here and want to come back asap! We used the back porch a lot(super comfy furniture)! The beach is so close, so no need to battle traffic and try to find a parking spot at the beach parking! Also close to lots of good Hawaiian food places! Thank you so much to Josh and his wife for making our stay so very enjoyable!

Exceptional Stay, Exceptional Host, Amazing Location

Josh’s Lanikai home was the best VRBO experience we have had. Josh is an amazing, accommodating and very responsive host. We had to change our plans a couple of times as a result of COVID and Josh was gracious enough to accommodate our requests. The home is brand new and it is even better in person than the pictures. The kitchen is amazing, the bathrooms are well appointed, and the two spacious bedrooms are very comfortable. The home is less than 200 yards from the best beach in this part of Oahu and he supplied a cart and beach chairs, which made it easy to go to and from the condo. We will definitely stay here again.

Extraordinary!

We couldn’t be more impressed by this property, or more comfortable staying there. Everything is top notch. The lanai and back yard are private, gorgeous and serene. The spacious house still looks and feels new, and was super-clean on our arrival. The decor is coordinated and lovely—easy on anyone’s eyes. The kitchen is well supplied, the laundry room is enviable, and the bathroom towels are plush white. Our host Josh was very responsive to our occasional questions. Finally, the walk to the beach is even shorter than we expected. Mahalo to Josh and family! We hope to return!

Relaxing stay in Lanakai

Our trip consisted on 3 nights in Waikiki and 3 nights in Lanikai. I was just beginning to settle in when we had to leave. The house was immaculate and located steps from Lanikai beach. I regret not having time to explore the town. I would suggest renting bikes and exploring the area on Day 1. The snorkeling was great from Lanikai beach. The pillbox hike had breathtaking views. We will hopefully be able to return one day soon.

Beautiful property inside and out. Great location, plenty of parking. It’s a comfortable home with generous space and so nice to hang out at. Close to a gorgeous beach, great restaurants, friendly neighborhood, and the Pillbox hike which my daughters went on. Love the high tech house, great well equipped kitchen and fabulous and relaxing back yard. Joshus is a great attentive host and the property exudes pride of ownership. Bravo!

Amazing stay!!

The property was amazing and exceeded my expectations! It was spacious, comfortable and super clean. Every room is beautifully decorated and I appreciated the little details. The backyard was also gorgeous and we spent some time each day outside. EXCEPTIONAL!!!

We had an amazing time staying in this beautiful home! It more than delivered on all our expectations. The pictures do not do it justice. Walking into this house we were taken aback at how spacious and beautifully decorated it all was, as well as the care for detail in every corner of the home. The backyard was very private and relaxing and perfect for my one year old grandson to run around in a safe and gated environment. The house is great for families with kids as it allows plenty of room to relax as a family. Being only steps away from Lanikai beach is worth booking this place alone! Easy walk to the pillbox hike and centrally located to many restaurants. Josh was an excellent host and extremely thoughtful in setting up a crib for my grandson (it was the best he slept the entire trip). We cannot wait to go back and stay again on our next trip. Would highly recommend this beautiful home!!

EXCEPTIONAL Place

I’ve stayed in several rental places before, but nothing compared to this one.. it was EXCEPTIONAL!! Perfect location – walking distance to Lanikai beach (less than 5 min), gas station, grocery and a lot of restaurants in less than 10 min drive. The house is very roomy and absolute beautiful!!! It was very clean, everything brand new and had all of the necessities for a few night stay (including beach chairs). Joshua is the most thoughtful and gracious host, and very quick to respond to any questions. He provided us with a list of recommended restaurants and welcomed us with a few local treats (Hawaiian chocolate!!). Very early in the morning, the birds come to the yard and start to sing – so peaceful!!! We will come back for sure! Totally above and beyond!!

Perfection!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful this property is. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and clean, and private. The location couldn’t be better, it was a very short walk (2 minutes) to one of my favorite beaches, and the neighborhood was quiet and safe. We had everything we needed in the house to cook if we wanted to, or there are plenty of restaurants in nearby Kailua. Josh was a great host, friendly, and available for any questions we had. It was a perfect week. I will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic!

I would give this property more than 5 stars if I could. It is a strikingly modern and spacious house with much natural lighting. There is an AC unit in every main room. It has state of the art controls for lighting, fans and shades. It is beautifully decorated and one feels right at home as soon as one enters the house. The backyard is large and well-manicured which is a great setting for relaxing after a day in the sun. The side of the house boasts a useful outdoor shower for those sandy feet. In addition, the house sits on a safe and quiet street. It is 2/3 of a block from Lanikai Beach access. The beach is great for snorkeling. We saw a multitude of fish close to the shore as well as a curious turtle. A hiking trail along a nearby ridge is only a few steps away. The owners are friendly, gracious and accommodating. They are easily accessible for any issues or requests that may arise. In summary, if this house is available to rent, hesitate no further. You will truly enjoy your stay at this house!

One of the best vacation homes we’ve ever stayed at!!

Wow!! This place!!!! What a gem!! Super luxurious and special! We were able to book 4 nights and I can tell you that every second was dreamy here! The entire interior design is out of a magazine- the pictures do not do it justice. They have thought about all the details (really too many to list!) that can make a vacation stay feel truly magical! The spacious backyard is a perfectly landscaped oasis & everything felt like resort living with total privacy. Josh and his wife were so gracious and gave us insider tips on the best places to eat-delish! This will be our go to spot whenever we can get back to beautiful Kailua! Mahalo for sharing your home with my daughter and I-we will not forget this trip!
